Three New Clip From 'Lawless'

Here are three new clips from John Hillcoat’s Lawless, Featuring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce.

Am I the only one who is truly excited about ‘Lawless?’ This film seems to have it all. Great character actors in Gary Oldman, and Guy Pearce — and Pearce doubles here as a seemingly fantastic villain.

We also have the classic leading men older brother, younger brother combo in Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy. Oh, by the way, both of those guys can act their asses off, but it’s more than that. Tom Hardy is cast as the strong aggressive older brother — a role he has always excelled in. Meanwhile, Shia plays the little brother who’s more interested in girls than being tough. Again, a fine casting choice.

The women in this film? Forget about it. I think Mia Wasikowska along with Saoirse Ronan is the most interesting and most talented young actress in Hollywood — I’ll put Chloe Grace Moretz in that mix as well. Then we have Jessica Chastain who is a chameleon. It took me ten minutes the other day to recognize her in The Debt. Then, last year she changed colors again in The Help. She’s an amazing actress, who is still waiting for her big break-out solo role, but trust me, it’s coming.

Put all that together with director John Hillcoat, Bootlegging, and the early 1920′s and I’d say we have a film on our hands that I’m desperate to see. I just don’t get the feeling that the public feels the same way. My guess? Lawless will under performs at the box office. Only time will tell, but I’m just not sensing any buzz. Check out the new clips below, maybe they’ll sway your opinion one way or another.

“LAWLESS is the true story of the infamous Bondurant Brothers: bootlegging siblings who made a run for the American Dream in Prohibition-era Virginia. In this epic gangster tale, inspired by true-life tales of author Matt Bondurant’s family in his novel “The Wettest County in the World”, the loyalty of three brothers is put to the test against the backdrop of the nation’s most notorious crime wave.”
