5 New Character Posters From Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie

FrankenweenieFrankenweenie has all us Tim Burton fans sick with excitement. The film is still a ways off, it’s customary for Tim Burton films with themes to be released in the appropriate month. Thus, Frankenweenie was of course given an October release, October the 5th, 2012 to be exact.

 

If you haven’t heard, Frankenweenie tells the tale of a boy and his dog, but it’s never so simple when it comes to Tim Burton. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be, well… monstrous.

 

The most interesting thing about this film is not that its a return to stop motion for Tim Burton, but a return to stop motion with the added development of 3D capture cameras Tim Burton is using. Tim Burton, 3D, and Stop motion — if you love film, what’s not to like?

So many films are the same these days. A fellow blogger of mine wrote an article today breaking down how every single big budget action movie was basically the same this summer and in many ways he was right.  Well, I can guarantee that “Frankenweenie” will be a unique film experience. I just hope people still have the taste for black and white stop motion. Its a risk by Disney for sure.
