Big Love Star Jeanne Tripplehorn Joins Criminal Minds

Jeanne TripplehornForty-nine-year-old actress, Jeanne Tripplehorn, from Tulsa Oklahoma, will replace Paget Brewster as a series regular on Criminal Minds.

Paget Brewster, left the procedural drama, Criminal Minds this year after seven seasons. “We’re thrilled to have Jeanne Tripplehorn join our team as a profiler,” said Executive Producer Erica Messer in a statement. “Her character will be introduced in the premiere. It’s an exciting way to start season 8.”

Jeanne Tripplehorn has had a nice career. She got her big break in the The Firm, opposite Tom Cruise and has went on to co-star is some pretty good films. Over the last five years, she starred as Barb Hendrickson in Big Love, the HBO drama about a family of polygamist. Since Big Love ended in late 2011, she most recently had a multi-episode role in Fox’s New Girl. A TV veteran now,  I see this being an easy transition for her. Look for Jeanne Tripplehorn this fall when Criminal Minds returns to CBS for an 8th season
