New Suits Season 2 ScoopSuits: Casting related scoop on the second half of season 2

Here’s some scoop on Suits from Carina Adly MacKenzie’s Monday Kickstart column for the week of 9/24/12.

“Suits”

Producers are casting for a large guest star arc. They’re looking for a middle-aged man with a British, European, or Australian accent to play Stephen. the head of a London-based international law firm. He’s described as “avuncular, unassuming, and likeable,” and people tend to write him off, but he’s surprisingly smart… and deceptive.

USA Networks has done it again with this delightful drama. Suits, is a well put together show with good characters at all the right story structure points. I expect Suits to be around for five or six years, because it’s easy to produce and averages over 3.5 million viewers per episode.

I first heard about this show in 2010 actually, and then it was called “A Legal Mind” — a play on words of Russell Crowe’s, ‘A Beautiful Mind.’  The pilot was filmed in the fall of 2010 and then USA picked it up a couple of months later, green-lighting the show for a 12 episode season in January of 2011. Did, you know, that over the summer USA Network was routinely beating NBC in prime-time ratings? Ten years ago USA Networks was a joke, now its a great place for good TV. What a turn around.
