Bill MurrayBill Murray is returning to the big screen with the lead role in St. Vincent De Van Nuys, a coming-of-age project which made the Black List.

The film is about a 12 year old boy who, in the wake of his parents’ divorce, forms a friendship with a retiree (Bill Murray) who lives next door. According to, Murray’s character is a ‘war veteran well seasoned in drinking, gambling, prostitutes and more, but that doesn’t stop him from becoming an unlikely mentor to the adolescent boy.’

This should be a nice year for Bill Murray who plays FDR in ‘Hyde Park on Hudson,’ which hits theaters December 7th, 2012. That film takes place in June of 1939, when King George VI and his wife, the Queen Consort Elizabeth (parents of the current Queen Elizabeth II) made a visit to President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s country estate in Hyde Park, New York. At the same time, the President was growing closer to his distant cousin and eventual mistress, Margaret Suckley. No British monarch had ever visited the U.S. before, and Roosevelt hoped to bolster American support for the United Kingdom on the eve of World War II, which broke out less than three months later. You can see the trailer below, its a good one.

As for St. Vincent De Van Nuys, look for the film to come out next year about the same time Hyde Park on Hudson arrives this year, sometime in December.
