BOX OFFICE UPDATE: ‘Snow White’ finish No. 1 with $56.1 million dollars. The film slowed down a little on Saturday, but still managed to have a huge weekend. The film made $95.4 million dollars world-wide.

Saturday Box Office Projections: Snow White and The Huntsman has lift off. The dark tale of Snow White starring Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart, and Chris Hemsworth will finish No. 1 at the box office this weekend. The film grossed $20.3 million dollars on Friday and is projected to to take in $55.8 million dollars over the weekend. That total is better than expected for the first major summer film to hit the theaters without the benefit of a 3D premium. Universal finally gets one right this summer after enduring the misery of ‘The Five Year Engagement” and “Battleship.” Deadline wrote, “It’s now safe to say that Snow White is breaking the post-Avengers early summer slump which has claimed 5 straight major studio releases…”

It’s incredible. We have found out that huge movies like ‘The Avengers’ are not always good for the industries they dominate. All the other major studios outside of “Men In Black 3′s” Columbia/Sony Pictures, got crushed trying to stand up to Marvel’s giant. Until now that is.
