Bruno Gunn Via ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Firehelmer Francis Lawrence has set Bruno Gunn to play Brutus in the sequel. Gunn has been seen inSons of Anarchy and Oz. Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson star and new castmembers include Philip Seymour Hoffman, with Lionsgate releasing November 22, 2013.’

Brutus is a victor from District 2, and he is the male tribute for his district in the 3rd Quarter Quell. He is part of the Career pack and during the Quell travels with a large group of other people, including Enobaria, Gloss and Cashmere.

During training for the Quarter Quell Brutus witnesses Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) shooting abilities and requests her as an ally. Numerous tributes request Katniss as an ally, so this would not be surprising except being from District 2 Brutus did not know about the escape plan. Many tributes did, and as such wanted to ally with Katniss to protect her and to make sure they did not kill each other before the escape. This shows that Brutus was truly in awe of her shooting abilities, so much so he wanted her to join the Career pack.

Santa Monica, CA, August 8, 2012- Lionsgate® and the filmmakers of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE are pleased to announce that Bruno Gunn has been cast in the role of Brutus in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel Catching Fire. Brutus is a former Career victor from District 2.

Gunn has co-starred in a variety of films, most recently the comedy hit Bad Teacher, and is recognizable to TV audiences from frequent guest starring roles including on “The Office”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Sons Of Anarchy,” “Oz,” and “Prison Break.”

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark.   Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts.  Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the second in a trilogy that has sold more than 50 million books in print and digital in the U.S. alone.

Lionsgate will release THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE on November 22, 2013.
