CarrieThe Kimberly Peirce ‘Carrie’ remake, starring Chloe Moretz in the title role, has officially added a few new faces today.

Actress Portia Doubleday has signed on to play bad girl Chris Hargensen, who torments the title character, played by Chloe Moretz. Carrie‘s telekinetic abilities are harnessed after Hargensen pulls a cruel prom night prank. Chris Hargensen was played by Nancy Allen in the original Carrie.

Judy Greer has also signed on to Carrie today. Greer will be playing the sympathetic gym teacher (named Miss Collins in the original, but Deadline’s story has her called Miss Desjardin) who tries to help out Carrie White (Chloe Moretz) when she has her first period in the showers after class. Unfortunately for Carrie, the teacher phones her repressive mother (Julianne Moore in this version) and causes more trouble.

This film is putting together a nice collection of actresses. With filming already under way Carrie is set to be released in April of 2012. Stay Tune for production stills and teasers.
