Christina Ricci is joining Paul Duddridge’s ensemble mother, daughter film, ‘Mothers Day.’ The movie will examine the relationships between various mothers and daughters.
It’s more steady work for the thirty two year old actress from Santa Monica. Since she burst onto the scene as a little girl in Mermaids, Christina Ricci has been one of the most interesting actresses on the planet. She doesn’t always give great performances, but she always gives interesting ones.
From The Addams Family to Buffalo ’66, to the The Opposite of Sex, Ricci has always done it her way. I always thought she was perfect for a lead in a good TV show. Unfortunately, Pan Am didn’t work out for her last broadcast season, but I think it renewed interest.
‘Mothers Day’ will also star Susan Sarandon and her real life daughter Eva Amurri Martino. At this point, it looks like that’s it for the announced cast, though it seems likely that we’ll hear of more casting soon.
Cinemablend.com wrote, ‘There’s no word on whether Ricci will be playing the mother-side or the daughter-side of a duo.’ That’s a strange thing for me to contemplate. Where does the time go? I remember Ricci crushing on Devon Sawa in Casper.
