Nolan Done With Batman, Will Not produce Justice League

Christopher NolanChristopher Nolan is cutting his ties with Batman once The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters in 11 days. Once his trilogy is over, there is no reboot, or going back to the character itself.

Last year I reported about the Justice League movie and how it was possible that Nolan would be involved with reshaping Batman. Now, as the press junket’s for The Dark Knight Rises are underway, Nolan is putting those talks to rest.

Well that answers that. If you were at all wondering whether Christopher Nolan would exit his Batman franchise and take on a larger role when it comes to Warner Bros’ DC Comics-related movie plans — including a potential directorial gig as the man who brings Justice League to the big screen. It’s not going to happen.

Sadly, the filmmaker will not be involved in any capacity on Justice League of America. Here’s what he had to say, ”No, none at all. We’re finished with all we’re doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character.”

The director added that rumors of his involvement may have started since he is producing another Warner Bros. superhero adventure, Man of Steel. He also said he has no plans to participate in any further Batman movies Warner Bros. may produce in the future.

“Batman will outlive us all, and our interpretation was ours. Obviously, we consider it definitive and kind of finished. The great thing about Batman is he lives on for future generations to reinterpret, and obviously, Warners will have to decide in the future what they’re going to do with him. We’ve had our say on the character. I’ve got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any Justice League project.”
All in all it’s a little disappointing. I would love to have seen him as a producer. I knew he wouldn’t direct Justice League, but it would have been nice to see him Executive Producers role.
