Emma Watson Joins Aronofsky‘s ‘Noah’

Written by Alexander Tucker   // 06/08/2012

Emma WatsonEmma Watson has entered talks to board Darron Aronofsky‘s biblical passion project Noah, joining Russell CroweDouglas Booth, and It will mark a reunion with her Perks Of Being A Wallflower co-star Logan Lerman who also joined the cast.

Emma will play Ila, who will apparently catch the eye of Noah’s son Shem, played by Douglas Booth. Emma Watson catching the eye of a young man, that’s not to much of a stretch. The big role still left to be cast is that of the villain-esque character (Liev Schrieber is apparently a contender), as well as Noah’s wife, with Jennifer Connelly‘s name still linked, but not official. Saorise Ronan‘s name was linked around the same time as Connelly’s but she won’t be in the picture according to reports.

Shooting for Noah is scheduled to begin in the summer, with a 2014 release in cinemas. Since the Harry Potter finale, where Emma waved farewell to her bookish alter-ego Hermione Granger, the star has been on fire. She appeared in My Week With Marilyn, Perks of Being A Wallflower, is wrapping The Bling Ring, and will star in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s comedy End of the World, where she will appear as herself with a large ensemble cast doing the same.
