The Perks Of Being a Wallflower

Here’s an exclusive Clip The Perks of Being A Wallflower’ From MTV

The Perks of being a Wallflower has a GREAT young cast that includes Logan lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller as co-stars. The film also features Nina Dobrev and  Mae Whitman, Paul Rudd, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott (He’s grown on me as an actor) and Jonny Simmons.

The Perks of being a Wallflower is based on the book by Stephen Chbosky who also directs the film. The book was picked up by MTV publishing house and it hit stores in February of 1999. It’s a coming of age story, one with grit and introverted adolescence. It deals with loneliness, touches on youthful drug use, suicide and first loves. It was also one of the first books to explore homosexuality in a modern way, meaning its mentioned, but never harrped on. The gay character in the book isn’t a cliched one who constantly stresses about coming out of the closet.

I read the book, and it was a good easy read. The book is only 224 pages, so you can read it in a couple sittings or over one evening. The conflict of Logan Lerman’s character Charlie, is his apprehensiveness about starting high school as a freshman without his only good friend who committed suicide over the summer. Emma Watson’s Sam and Era Miller’s Ppatrick, upper clansmen, then take Charlie under their wings and show him its okay to let lose and have fun. Life can be painful yes, but if you don’t embrace it and move on, it will destory you.

The Perks of being a Wallflower has changed it release date. The film was going to hit theaters on September 14, but now it’s been pushed back a week, and The Perks of Being A Wallflower will hit theaters on September 21.  Check out the clips below and note Emma Watson, gosh she is gorgeous.
