First look at Clint Eastwood in Trouble With The Curve

Do you feel lucky? Clint Eastwood is going back in front of the camera for the first time since Gran Torino, with Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake in ‘Trouble With The Curve.’ This is also the first film he has starred in that he hasn’t directed himself since the great 1993 political thrill, “In The Line of Fire.” — John Malkovich was damn good in that movie, what a calculating and creepy villain he makes. Wow, I love his performance in ‘In the line of Fire.’

Back to the here and now, Clint Eastwood will be directed by his friend and collaborator behind the camera, Robert Lorenz – making his directorial debut. At this age, Clint is unlikely to work with someone he doesn’t know. He doesn’t have to. He’s Hollywood royalty.

We don’t have an official synopsis yet, We know Eastwood plays Gus, an old Atlanta Braves Scout with seeing problems. We know his daughter Mickey, played by Amy Adams, Agrees to be his eyes on a crucial recruiting trip and Timberlake plays a young and upcoming baseball scout, a rival if you will or rather the new replacing the old?

While speaking about Eastwood’s character, Robert Lorenz, who shared best-picture Oscar nominations with Clint on ‘Mystic River’ and ‘Letters From Iwo Jima,’ says, “He gets his chance to prove whether he still has value as a scout—and as a dad. They’re having trouble communicating. They always have, and now they’ve come to a point in the relationship where it’s either going to change or it’s not. He needs a little help, and she decides it’s worth the effort.” ‘Trouble With the Curve’ is pencilled in for a September 28th release in the US and November 30th release in the UK.
