How Will Claire Danes Pregnancy Effect Homeland?

Written by Alexander Tucker   // 07/05/2012

homelandIt’s nice to have an answer because it’s the first thing I thought about when I heard Claire Danes was pregnant: Will her pregnancy effect the storyline of Homeland? I know, where is my heart, how about a congratulations? To be fair, when I saw the name Hugh Dancy next to the news, I did smile and think, I always liked that couple.

So will it effect the show OR WHAT!? Doesn’t look like it. Huffpo TV spoke with a Fox representative, Fox is one of the production company’s behind “Homeland,” and they told Huffpo that Danes’ pregnancy is not likely to impact production of Season 2. When asked if her pregnancy will be at all incorporated into the narrative going forward, the rep said, ”[W]e do not as a matter of policy comment on what the producers have planned in terms of story lines.”

homelandSo, there you go. Take from that what you will, but I doubt it gets put into the storyline. To be honest, Carrie is a forward thinking woman with a lot of problems to boot. In my estimation, she would not get herself pregnant or may do something about it if she did. [Just saying, lets keep politics out of it]

THERE WAS MORE NEWS, Season 2 of “Homeland” picks up six months after Season 1 ends and, ”Carrie has had, for the first time in her life, the benefit of professional help for her disease,” Homeland” executive producer Alex Gansa told HuffPost TV’s Maureen Ryan. ”She will have been in the psych ward for awhile. She will have been in the care of a psychiatrist for six months. [How would she be pregnant unless she was sleeping with the doctor or a fellow patient?] She will have undergone a series of these ECT therapies. [The treatment we saw in the Season 1 finale] is not just a one-off.”

Interesting. I can’t wait for the show to return, Sept. 30th on Showtime. ‘Homeland’ was thee surprise of last fall. What a fantastic show, and wow, how about all those awards? Not bad for a first season out.
