‘jOBS’, ‘Red 2’, and ‘Now You See Me’ Release Date Changes



Three highly anticipated movies, jOBS, Red 2, and Now You See Me, set to be released in 2013 have had their release dates changed just in the past few weeks.


Jobs Release Date Change

“jOBS”, the bio-pic on the iconic Apple© founder Steve Jobs, was originally slated to open on April 19th,  but Open Road Films has decided to push it back. They have not set a new release date. The film is directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Neverwas; Swing Vote) and stars Ashton Kutcher (That ‘70s Show; Two and a Half Men) in the title role.

Red 2 Release Date Change

“Red 2”, the sequel to the 2010 action-comedy hit, was scheduled to open on August 2nd, with “300: Rise of an Empire” and “2 Guns”, but Summit Entertainment has bumped it up two week to July 19th. It now opens on a very busy weekend, with “The Conjuring”, “R.I.P.D.”, and “Turbo”. This Sequel is directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest; Fun with Dick and Jane) and has an all-star cast consisting of, Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Anthony Hopkins.

Now You See Me Release Date Change

“Now You See Me”, the magic thriller with an award-winning cast, including Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman, was scheduled to open on June 7th, with “After Earth” and “The Internship”, but has been moved up a week to a less hectic May 31st, with sci-fi thriller “The Purge”. It was directed by Louis Leterrier (The Transporter 1 and 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Clash of the Titans). Michael Caine, who has a supporting role, also had a supporting role in the 2006 magic thriller, “The Prestige”, which made $97.2 million worldwide.
