Jodie Foster is jumping back into the directing game, this time for Showtime. In her first major behind-the-camera foray into television, Jodie Foster is set to direct and executive produce Angie’s Body, a drama project set at Showtime and produced by Sony Pictures TV.
Yes, this has me all types of excited. I’m a fan of Foster and she commands respect in the industry and will get the budget and find fine actors to fill her leads. Most of the young actors in Hollywood grew up respecting her and her rich tradition in the film history.
Angie’s Body is written by Heroes and Jericho writer Rob Fresco, making me even more ecstatic. You may be asking, why I’m seemingly hyper ventilating. I’m not, but I cover this Biz for a living and have to watch a lot of bullshit. Its just nice when two established and proven filmmakers get together for a project set to air on a premium network. So, give me a break and get me a coke from the corner store.
Angie’s Body centers around a shrewd, sexy and, when necessary, lethal woman who runs a family-based crime syndicate. Foster and Fresco will executive produce the project with Sony TV-based Russ Krasnoff.
