liberal Arts Trailer from Josh RadnorI don’t know much about ‘Liberal Arts,’ but I love the actors in it and here’s the film’s debut trailer.

The film stars Elizabeth Olsen, who has impressed me all year. In Martha Marcy May Marlene she was flat out awesome and though Silent House wasn’t the best film ever made, she made the best out of a flawed script. In ‘Liberal Arts,’ directed by How I Met Your Mother star Josh Rador, Olsen plays a College sophomore who develops a relationship with a 35 year old bookworm (Josh Radnor).

The film was a hit at Sundance. It won an Audience award. Germain Lussier, who was at the festival, compared Radnor to Cameron Crowe. Wow. This I must see. My guess is that the reviewer got caught up in the moment a little bit, but I have heard and understand that Josh Radnor is  talented and planning on spending his latter years behind the camera, not in front.

Interestingly enough, audiences love the film, but the old school critics panned it. Go figure.

Here is the official synopsis: Bookish and newly single Jesse Fisher returns to his alma mater for his favorite professor’s retirement dinner. A chance meeting with Zibby – a precocious classical music-loving sophomore – awakens in him long-dormant feelings of possibility and connection. Cast: Josh Radnor, Elizabeth Olsen, Richard Jenkins, Allison Janney, John Magaro, Elizabeth Reaser.
