Man of Steel Comic Con Report

Written by Alexander Tucker   // 07/15/2012

Man of SteelLucky fans were treated to the first footage of Man of Steel at Comic-Con on Saturday, while the first poster from the film was also unveiled.

The shadowy image gives only a glimpse of Cavill as Superman, with the iconic S logo the most prominent feature of the shot.

Director Zach Snyder opened up about the difficulties of rebooting the famous franchise, revealing that he has decided not to use the original music in an effort to distance Man Of Steel from the previous Superman films.

‘We had to act as if no film has been made. When we approached it, we had to say “this is Superman for the first time and you can’t say, “Oh, now let’s steal a little music,”  he smiled. ’So yes, it’s awesome music but Hans (Zimmer) is going to do something awesome.’

Of  the Trailer, that will be attached to The Dark Knight Risesone news site reports ’Man of Steel seems to be a film in very much in the Nolan/”Batman Begins” mold and it also looks like Snyder is dampening down his trademark style that’s had a few, rather breathless, we’d advance, commentators compare the footage to that of Terrence Malick. Tonally, the film also seems to suggest a more realistic Superman, with larger questions abounding about what would be the political response by America if it were faced with such an ultimate weapon like the Man of Steel. ‘
