Marie Howell Cast as Seeder in Hunger Games: Catching Fire

SeederSanta Monica, CA, August 13th, 2012- Lionsgate and the filmmakers of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE are pleased to announce that Maria Howell has been cast in the role of Seeder in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel Catching Fire. A former victor from District 11, Seeder competes in the 75th Annual Hunger Games, also known as the Quarter Quell.

Maria Howell is an Atlanta, Georgia based actress, singer, and voiceover artist best known as the choir soloist from the movie “The Color Purple.” She has also appeared on television in Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva, The Vampire Diaries, Meet The Browns, and House Of Payne, and in the acclaimed film “The Blind Side.”

Seeder won a previous Hunger Games. Seeder, after she won, did not turn to drink or morphling but instead remained healthy. She was reaped again for the 75th Hunger Games, a Quarter Quell.
