NBC's Grimm Casts A Former First Lady in a Guest-Starring RoleGrimm: Casting related scoop on episode 2×11

Here’s some scoop on Grimm from this week’s (Posted on 9/25/12) Ask Ausiello column.

I love Grimm! It is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me! It hurts to have to wait until Friday for new episodes, and I would be really, really, really happy if you could share a few scoops with me. —Oliver

Ausiello: Oliver, grab a paper bag and start blowing into it — your question has been selected for this week’s Ask Ausiello. The Event‘s First Lady ala Lisa Vidal has been tapped to guest-star in this season’s 11th episode as Lauren Castro, Portland’s ambitious DA who intends to run for mayor and won’t let anything — or anyone — get in her way. FYI: Vidal shows up in the same episode in which this happens.

Grimm has been on hiatus since September 3rd, but rest easy, Grimm returns with episode, 2×05 ‘The Good Shepherd,’ on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 9pm on NBC.

Grimm opened season 2 with 5.64 million viewers and has remained steady ever since. The last three episodes were viewed by 4.7 million viewers per week, give or take a 100k. That’s on ratings par with most of last season. I don’t know if NBC was hoping for a ratings boom in season 2 or if they were just looking to maintain the ratings from last season. If maintaining year-to-year ratings was the out look then Grimm has succeeded and should be renewed for a third season.
