I just started reading Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter a few days ago, and I love it.
It’s an easy read, it’s not Tolstoy or Dickens, and that can be a great thing when your sick and you don’t feel like laboring through a novel with a dictionary. Plus, I’m done with school and enjoy reading for entertainment value. And Vampire Hunter is that.
The book is written as fact , which is amusing and fascinating to take in. Seth Grahame-Smith, the books author, plays it straight as if the story was of historical relevance based on Abraham Lincoln’s lost “Secret Diaries”
Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter book is action packed and bloody and from the looks of things, the film will follow in it’s foot steps. As a matter of fact, I know the film will follow in the books footsteps because Seth Grahame-Smith also wrote the screenplay.
When the author of a book pens the screen play of his film adaptation I always give the project more credence. After the story was forged from Grahame-Smith’s slightly crazy mind. Who better to condense the film into two hours.
The director of the film is still a mystery to me. I mean, I know who he is,. His name is Timur Bekmambetov, but his career has been hit and miss. Yes, ‘Night Watch’ and ‘Day Watch’ were fine films, but ‘Wanted’ was a bit corny and is direct to DVD film ‘The Arena’ was just strange.
I will give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter however, because the source material is so good. I’m also a fan of the cast. Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie and Mary Elizabeth Winstead was the only good thing came out of The Thing.
The Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter Red band Trailer. Enjoy.
