New Looper Featurette and Poster Featuring Director Rian Johnson

New Looper and Featurette Sony Pictures has released a NEW behind-the-scenes featurette for Rian Johnson’s futurist action thriller Looper.

The new featurette focuses on the composing work of Nathan Johnson, cousin of director Rian Johnson, for the sci-fi assassin flick ‘Looper.’

This is the second sound/composing featurette from the film. They are really doing a great job marketing this film from a technical point of view. Rain and Nathan Johnson, are really trying to show movie lovers the little things that make a movie so powerful — The sounds and effects we all take for granted. That 6th sense where music and noises create emotion without us actually being able to pin-point why. It’s great stuff.

The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a low-level gangster in the near future who works as a ‘looper,’ executing victims sent back in time by the organization in the future, so the bodies can’t be traced. But his world is turned upside down when he finds his latest kill is.. himself, as an older man (Bruce Willis). Things go very bad, very fast from there, as is demonstrated by the latest trailer, a UK version, which just debuted.

Looper is the third film from Rian Johnson following his breakout hit Brick and The Brothers Bloom after that. It also stars Piper Perabo, Jeff Daniels and Paul Dano. Looper hits theaters everywhere starting on September 28th this fall.

In the year 2042 time travel has not yet been invented. But in 30 years it will have been. In Rian Johnson’s highly anticipated sci-fi action thriller, Joe works as a looper, a futuristic assassin who receives and eliminates targets sent back in time by a criminal organisation. The only rule is that you do not let your target escape – even if that target is you. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.
