Written by Alexander Tucker   // 08/28/2012

SightseersHere’s the new trailer for Ben Wheatley’s dark comedy thrill, ‘Sightseers.’

Sightseers, premiered at the 2012 Cannes Film Fest. It was selected and screened ion the Directors’ Fornight section of the festival. After the screening, the film was bought by IFC/ Sundance for its US release.

The reviews for Sightseers were pretty good. It’s been cited for exquisite cinematography, funny over the top death scenes with ample gore.

Sightseers stars Steve Oram and Alice Lowe. Oram is a British comedian and actor who’s done lots of BBC work. Alice Lowe is also from England and she writes comedy and act, obviously. Again, she’s done some stuff on BBC, had a pilot on BBC three that was dropped, and has appeared in shows alongside Steve Coogan.

Sightseers‘ will hit theaters on November 30th in the UK. Stay tune for US release date.

Chris (Steve Oram) wants to show Tina (Alice Lowe) his world and he wants to do it his way – on a journey through this sceptred isle in his beloved Caravan. Tina’s led a sheltered life and there are things that Chris needs her to see – the Crich Tramway Museum, the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Keswick Pencil Museum and the rolling countryside that separates these wonders in his life. But it doesn’t take long for the dream to fade. Litterbugs, noisy teenagers and pre-booked caravan sites, not to mention Tina’s meddling mother, soon conspire to shatter Chris’s dreams and send him, and anyone who rubs him up the wrong way, over a very jagged edge.
