New Trailer From The Campaign Starring Will Ferrell

Written by Alexander Tucker   // 07/26/2012

The CampaignHere is a funny new trainer from Jay Roach’s new comedy ‘The Campaign.’ The film stars Will Ferrell as incumbent congressman Cam Brady and Zach Galifianakis as Marty Huggins, the political challenger.

The new trailer centers around a dinner sequence where the two candidates — Cam Brady and Marty Huggins both reach out to their families to get closer with them in the heat of the race. Maybe it’s the childishness in me, but I think this trailer is fucking funny. Some bloggers have called it average and dismissed it as raunchy comedy… A, yea, that is what it is, but raunchy comedy can be funny sometimes. It not something I want to watch every night, but when Ferrell and Galifianakis do it, I’m up for it. This trailer had me laughing out loud.

The film was shot in New Orleans, mostly on Warner Bros. new production stage down there. writes, The Campaign ‘Landing somewhere between the silliness of his Austin Powers trilogy and the staid drama of his recent HBO telefilm Game Change.’

That’s an interesting take. The film has been properly marketed as such and the timing is perfect here in the USA where we are in the middle of a heated presidential campaign of our own.

The official synopsis reads simply; The film follows two rival politicians (Will Ferrell & Zach Galifianakis) who are trying to win an election to represent their small North Carolina congressional district in the United States House of Representatives.

The film also stars Jason Sudeikis, Brian Cox, John Lithgow and Dan Aykroyd, The Campaign will open in the UK on 28 September 2012 and the US on August 10.
