House at the end of the street

Here is a new trailer from “House at the end of the Street.” The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Elisabeth Shue, Max Thieriot and Gil Bellows.

House at the end of the streetThe film that stars Hollywood it girl , Jennifer Lawrence, is about a teen and her mother seeking a fresh start. Newly divorced Sarah, played by Oscar-nominee Elisabeth Shue (“Leaving Las Vegas,” “Piranha 3D”) and her daughter Elissa, played by Jennifer Lawrence (“X-Men: First Class,” “Winter’s Bone”) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared – leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot, “My Soul to Take”), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah’s wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan – and the closer they get, the deeper they’re all pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined. The film hit theaters September 21st, 2012.

House at the End of the Street might have gone straight to DVD/BluRay, a year ago, but on the back of the smash hit, The Hunger Games, which made jennifer Lawrence a household name, the film is going forward as a wide release. The film was tentatively scheduled to be released on February 3, 2012, but was later pushed to an April, 2012 release. Now, since The Hunger Games success, the film was moved again, and will be released on September 21, 2012 — which is a prime release date.

It’s a smart move by Rogue and Relativity Media. If you have a film in the can and your lead turns into an over night star, by all means, give the film a better release date. Don’t kid yourself, making movies is a business. Like any business, companies use trends and data to make financial plans. Hollywood is no different. Here is the new trailer.
