Here’s the debut trailer from Justin Zackham’s ‘Big Wedding.’ At least the cast is good. It stars Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Robin Williams, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried and Topher Grace.
The trailer on the other hand falls completely flat to these bloggers eyes. Its not funny, most of the characters in this film seem to be reprising roles from other films and the center of the plot is just completely ridiculous.
In the film Long divorced couple Don and Ellie Griffin (Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton) are once again forced to play the happy couple for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding after his ultra conservative biological mother unexpectedly decides to fly halfway across the world to attend.
My question would be, who is she to judge us, she gave away her kid. Its just too ridiculous a circumstance. These two people who are divorced are going to pretend to be married for some woman from Columbia? What would be the consequence if she didn’t approve? She would go back to Columbia and stew? It’s just ridiculous.
To be honest, I don’t really trust this writer/ director Justin Zachham. He’s one of those producers turned filmmakers. He wrote and Executive Produced ‘The Bucket List.’ He also was the creator and EP for FX’s terrible short lived drams series, ‘Lights Out.’ — BTW, I love boxing and wanted to like his show, but it was just shit.
I hate to be so negative, because you should never judge a film by its trailer, but I don’t think I’ve ever said, never judge a film by its plot details and synopsis.
