New Viral Video From ‘Prometheus’

Written by Alexander Tucker   // 05/16/2012

PrometheusThe latest viral video from Prometheus gets us closer to Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw. In this video we learn, among other things, that Elizabeth Shaw is a conflicted Archaeologist. A scientist of the future who believes in faith and God.

We all know, many Archaeologist don’t believe in God. It’s the nature of their work. Archaeology is the  study of human activity, primarily through the recovery and analysis of the material culture and environmental data that they have left behind, which includes artifacts, architecture, biofacts and cultural landscapes. Most of them strongly believe in Darwin’s theory of Evolution. It sets up for interesting character development. After laying out her credentials Elizabeth Shaw goes on to says, “This is not what I am, It’s what I know.” She draws a distinct line between what she knows and what she believes. One can only hope that these conflicted ideals weigh heavily on the story and our Protagonist. Science verse faith is an ancient battle that hasn’t lost its luster.

This viral campaign from Prometheus has really peeked my interest. It’s smart and effective. ‘Prometheus‘ is really putting the question out there. Where do we come from? From the looks of things, Elizabeth Shaw will be the bastion for this question.
