Official Title for the ‘X-Men: First Class’ Sequel Revealed

Producer Bryan Singer has revealed to IGN that ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ is officially the title for the ‘X-Men: First Class’ sequel. Confirming the title, Singer revealed,  ”It deals with aspects of that comic, but also some very new things.”

The director spoke to IGN recently and offered an update on the high-profile sequel, revealing the film’s title and production status.

“It’s being written right now and it will start shooting in a few months,” Singer says. “It’s going to be very ambitious.

“It’s called Days Of Future Past and it deals with aspects of that comic but also some very new things. I just don’t want to give any of it away. Matthew Vaughn will be directing and I’m totally excited about it.”

In case you were wondering, Days Of Future Past is also the title of an ambitious ‘80s X-Men comic that involved criss-crossing alternate timelines, future dystopias and a plot involving serious social unrest.

Set to start production in January for a July 18th, 2014 release date, Matthew Vaughn is back in the director’s chair for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ with Simon Kinberg writing the script alongside Vaughn and his longtime collaborator, Jane Goldman. While there’s been no confirmation, I’d assume the principal cast will be reprising their roles from ‘X-Men: First Class’ in James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Caleb Landry Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Jason Flemyng and Jennifer Lawrence.
