RoboCop Official Synopsis & Poster

RoboCopHere’ s the official RoboCop Synopsis and Comic Con Poster. The new poster from the upcoming MGM Studios remake RoboCop, starring Joel Kinnaman as the cyborg lawman Alex Murphy, isn’t very impressive. Its rather plan actually. The synopsis is cool though. For some reason it’s just hard to believe that they’re actually making this film. Give MGM credit for their swift development of this picture. They announced it, cast it, and are filming it. One, Two, Three. I wish Ghostbusters 3 could come together this quickly. I also love the casting of Joel Kinnaman. I think this kid is a star. Some criticized him for taking the role, but I think he had to. He has been around for a while, and he needed a break out role and this could be it.

Anyway, here’e the synopsis: In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

Director José Padilha reimagines the tale of part man, part machine, cop starring Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman  as the scientist who creates RoboCop, and Samuel L. Jackson as media mogul Pat Novak.” It hits theaters August 9th, 2013.
