About Sam Claflin:
Sam Claflin was born June 27, 1986. Since graduating from LAMDA in 2009 Sam has worked on a number of prestigious projects. He can currently be seen in box office success ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ playing ‘Prince William’ alongside Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth. This twist to the classic fairy tale is directed by Rupert Sanders. Sam has recently finished filming both new Hammer Horror film ‘The Quiet Ones’ opposite Jarred Harris; and ‘Mary & Martha’ in South Africa opposite Hilary Swank. Last year Sam Claflin made a name for himself as youthful missionary ‘Philip’, the romantic lead in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’, the fourth feature in the hit series. In the film Sam stars alongside a stellar cast including Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush. Sam has also starred in a number of outstanding television projects. Sam has recently starred on our television screens as Jack in ‘White Heat’ an epic new drama for the BBC charting the lives of seven friends from 1965 to the present day. In this semi-autobiographical series written by the award winning Paula Milne, Sam Claflin stars alongside Claire Foy, Reece Ritchie and MyAnna Buring. He recently starred in ‘United’ alongside David Tennant, Dougray Scott and Jack O’Connell. In this one off film for the BBC directed by James Strong, Sam played the talented footballer Duncan Edwards in the tragic story of the Munich Air Crash of 1958, which killed and injured a number of members in the Manchester United team. In 2010 Sam was seen on our television screens in two outstanding dramas; the hit Channel 4 mini-series ‘Pillars of the Earth’ based on Ken Follett’s novel of the same name. In this drama Sam played ‘Richard’ alongside Eddie Redmayne, Hayley Atwell and Ian McShane. Sam also starred in the critically acclaimed adaptation of William Boyd’s ‘Any Human Heart’ for Channel 4 which recently won a BAFTA Award for ‘best drama serial’. Sam played the younger years of lead character ‘Logan’, sharing the role with Jim Broadbent and Matthew Macfadyen. The same year Sam also appeared in ‘The Lost Future’, a sci-fi adventure in which he played ‘Kaleb’ alongside Sean Bean and Annabelle Wallis. Sam’s theatre credits whilst at LAMDA include the role of Dorimant in ‘Man of Mode’, the title role in ‘Tommy’, Silvius in ‘As You Like It’ and Davey in ‘Love Is’.
