Russell BrandRussell Brand’s ‘Brand X’ premieres on FX Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11 p.m. Brand X will combine Brand’s unique sense of humor, and his take on politics and pop culture.

‘Brand X’ will combine late night talk show and comedic monologues. Brand X is described as, “Brand’s unvarnished, unfiltered take on current events, politics and pop culture.” FX has ordered six half-hour installments of ‘Brand X,’ all of which are filmed in front of a live studio audience. The show will drive heavily on Russell Brand’s interaction with the live studio audience.

Russell Brand describes ‘Brand X’ as him telling, “the honest truth about what I feel about all sorts of things…all in an accent you can barely understand.” In one sneak peek of ‘Brand-X’ you can watch Russell Brand go into an interesting monologue about “Benevolence & Joy.” He later goes on to tell the audience that he was, “describing an erection.” (See clip below for full monologue)

In ‘Brand X’ viewers will also see some political commentary, which Brand has a lot of experience talking about. After the London Riots in 2011, Brand wrote a column in The Guardian criticizing to Government’s response to the rioters, and failing to recognize the root causes of the riots.
‘Brand X’ was originally supposed to air over the spring, but due to Brand’s film schedule, the show got pushed to June 28, 2012. ‘Brand X’ will also be airing on Sky Atlantic in the UK.

Russell Brand is really an “uber-talent” with much success in the realms of film, radio, stand-up comedy, music, presenting, and even writing. Brand’s most recent book, Booky Wook 2: This Time Its Personal, came out in September 2010.

‘Brand X’ is being produced by FX Productions along with Branded Films and Dakota Films. Executive Producers are Russell Brand, Troy Miller and Nik Linnen. Miller also serves as Director of Brand X.
