The Newsroom: New campaign, character scoopage
Here’s some new casting scoop on HBO’s The Newsrooms from The Hollywood Reporter. It looks like the 2012 Campaign character roster is filling out nicely. News from a 12/3/2012 post.
The Newsroom Casting Scoop
Following the biggest political event of 2012, The Newsroom will approach the subject of Presidential election by making former candidate Mitt Romney play a large role in season 2. Of course Mr. Romney himself will not appear, but his staff might!
Joel Johnstone will recur as Cameron, a well-scrubbed Mitt Romney campaign staffer in New Hampshire, where he’ll be working alongside Grace Gummer’s Hallie Shea, a reporter embedded with the campaign.
The second season of Aaron Sorkin’s HBO show The Newsroom will premiere in June of 2013. The series is set behind the scenes at the fictional Atlantis Cable News (ACN) and centers around anchor Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer MacKenzie McHale (Emily Mortimer), newsroom staff Jim (John Gallagher, Jr.), Maggie (Alison Pill), Sloan (Olivia Munn), Neal (Dev Patel), Don (Thomas Sadoski), and their boss Charlie Skinner (Sam Waterston).
