New Clips From The Master

Here are two new clips from Paul Thomas Anderson heralded film The Master.

The Master has taken the festival world by storm. It’s said to be yet another master piece from the greatest director over the past decade plus. The Master had a $35 million dollar budget. That’s a big budget for PT Anderson to wwork with, it may be his most expensive movie. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams.

The film took three years to see the light of day. The first reports of The Master hit the wires back in December of 2009. The film was first picked up by universal, but they didn’t want to offend Scientology, even though PT Anderson said that’s not what the film depicts. Well, he was lying of course and Universal knew that and drop the picture. However, it didn’t stay in limo for long because The Weinstein Company snatched it right up.

Expect the music to be great. I loved Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead’s score in There Will Be Blood. It was a chilling score and it fit in perfectly with the film. Well, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood is back with ‘The Master.’ That’s a great thing. Moth men, Paul Thomas Anderson and Jonny Greenwood are masters at their crafts. The film will hit theaters on September 14, 2012.

A charismatic intellectual (Hoffman) launches a religious organization following World War II. A drifter (Phoenix) becomes his right-hand man, but as the faith begins to gain a fervent following, the drifter finds himself questioning the belief system and his mentor.
