War Heroes Movie Marathon Weekend On AMC

War Heroes Weekend Movie Marathon on AMCWhile Lifetime is playing a Tainted Love Movie Marathon, AMC will be airing a War Heroes Movie Marathon for Memorial Day weekend. War Heroes weekend is a four day, hosted event on the AMC Channel.


The following are some of the movies that will be featured on the AMC War Heroes Movie Marathon Weekend:

Patton (1970) – Starring George C. Scott, Karl Malden and Stephen Young. Written by Francis Ford Coppola.  This film follows the controversial career of George Patton. Patton won a total of 7 Academy Awards.

The Green Berets (1968) – Starring John Wayne, David Janssen, and Jim Hutton. Colonel Mike Kirby picks two teams of Green Berets for a mission in South Vietnam.

Midway (1976) – Starring Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda, and James Coburn. Midway follows the battle of World War II that ended up being the turning point of the Pacific Theatre.

Heartbreak Ridge (1986) – Starring Clint Eastwood. A Marine sergeant clashes with his ex-wife and superiors as he commands a platoon with bad attitude.

Letters From Iwo Jima (1996) – Starring Ken Watanabe and Directed by Clint Eastwood. The film follows the story of the battle of Iwo Jima from the perspective of the Japanese who fought the battle.

The Dirty Dozen (1967) – Starring Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, and Charles Bronson. A US Army Major is assigned to train a dozen convicted murderers to assassinate German officers in World War II.

The Great Raid (2005) – Starring Benjamin Bratt and Joseph Fiennes.  A group of Rangers go on a dangerous mission to save 500 soldiers who have been entrapped in a World War II camp (Cabanatuan Japanese POW camp) for three years.

Also in the War Heroes Weekend: Tank Commandos, Battle of the Bulge, and Flags of Our Fathers.
